Are
You a Republican?
Although
some folks join the Brown County Republican Party because
of a single concern, for most it's a mix or combination
of issues. See if you should become a member! Score 1 point
for each "yes" answer, then check your total below. Total
points possible: 26.
A.
I am concerned about how much I personally pay in taxes
at all
levels, national, state, and local.
B. The values that families put in place are
important for America's
future.
C. A strong mililtary is essential for America
to maintain its position in the
world.
D. Government programs are not the best solution
for most problems.
E. My personal freedoms may be threatened
by a growing loss of privacy.
F. The gap between incomes of the rich and
poor is truly
unfortunate, but not a reason for
limiting success.
G. I support the right to bear arms, including
concealed carry laws
now in place in 48 states.
H. Government is generally too large and must
be reduced in size.
I. Too many frivolous lawsuits are started;
we need tort reform.
J. In general, private charities in Brown
County have better solutions
than government agencies.
K. Social Security must be preserved,
and using Social Security Trust
funds for other purposes must be
stopped.
L. I believe in local control of Brown County schools,
and that unfunded
mandates from state government should
be resisted.
M. Business is a critical, essential part
of our American "pursuit of
happiness".
N. The environment must be preserved, but
compromises between the
needs of the people and the needs
of the natural world are necessary.
O. I support active, public expressions of religious
belief as defined by
the U.S. Constitution.
P. The United States must secure its borders
to protect citizens from
financial and criminal threats.
Q. American jobs are best preserved by businesses
making profits, not by
government mandates.
R. Wisconsin's position as a state with one of the
highest tax levels in
America must be changed.
S. I strongly support the arts and encourage
wide participation by all
citizens.
T. The American promise of life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness
must be available to all citizens,
regardless of religion, race, gender, or
national origin.
U. Our judicial system should first
defer to a strict interpretation of the
Constitution, rather than trying
to "re-define" its precepts to fit popular
trends.
V. The burden of explaining public policy
should reside in the
government's duty to be transparent.
W. Life begins at conception and the legal
system should accept that
definition.
X. Taxpayer money should not be used to fund political
campaigns,
directly or indirectly.
Y. The use of taxation as a powerful tool
for social engineering must be
curbed.
Z.
I believe in the unique, extraordinary excellence
of American principles
as a platform for success for all
peoples of the world.

may not be ready to join, but perhaps you might think about
what
